Exercise Class Descriptions
MyFitRX
An 8-week medical fitness program for individuals with chronic diseases/illnesses, injuries, difficulty overcoming illness, as well as individuals looking to start their health and well-being journey. Our program follows those of ACSM guidelines to ensure that our participants are exercising safely! We begin the program admittance process with a referral from a physician, physical therapist, nurse practitioner, or anyone licensed to give care. We bring participants in for a pre-assessment appointment. We conduct a variety of tests including: resting vitals, strength tests, endurance tests, and flexibility tests. We talk to the participant and understand their goals and worries. We write a customized exercise plan for each individual, ensuring that they are performing exercises that really match up to what their goals of the program are! Participants complete two 60-minute supervised group exercise sessions per week for 7 weeks. Each exercise session is overseen by one of our degreed and certified fitness specialists. Participants come back in for a post-assessment appointment, where we see how their fitness and health levels have improved over the past 8 weeks!
I am also going to attach a copy of a welcome letter that we provide to inquiring and new participants, as well as a sample referral form, just so you can see a little bit more in depth about what the program is!

PWR!Moves
Classes integrate Parkinson’s Disease (PD)-specific skill training into a multimodal exercise program (flexibility, strength, balance, agility, aerobics). The specificity of training begins by targeting four motor control skills shown to deteriorate and adversely affect everyday movement for people with PD. These foundational skills (i.e., antigravity extension, weight shifting, axial mobility, transitions) correspond to each of the Basic 4 PWR!Moves (PWR! Up, PWR! Rock, PWR! Twist, PWR! Step) and are used as building blocks of function.
PWR!Moves are:
Performed slowly, rhythmically, and with sustained effort.
Performed as big and fast as possible with repetitive effort.
Linked together into sequences that mimic everyday movement to improve coordination.
Pedaling for Parkinson's
Pedaling a bicycle may change the life of someone with Parkinson’s disease. Research conducted at the Cleveland Clinic showed a 35% reduction in symptoms by the simple act of pedaling a bicycle at a rapid pace – optimally 80-90 revolutions per minute. Fast pedaling is not a cure of Parkinson’s disease and should not be described as such, but there is compelling evidence that it can make a real difference for many who try it. We do know that fast-paced cycling is changing the lives of increasing numbers of participants who, before this, had no hope beyond medication and eventually surgery to slow the progression of their disease.
Ping Pong for Parkinson's
Parkinson's Disease Brain research has shown that Ping Pong stimulates 3 different parts of the brain that effect balance, generation of new brain cells, neuroplasticity (new neuro pathways being carved out due to vigorous activity), and blood flow to the brain. Ping Pong ranks high in the areas of the brain primarily due to anticipating and responding quickly in a small, 9X5 foot area.
