Some people with PD have difficulty cooking due to tremors, coordination deficits, balance deficits, and changes in fine motor skills. Here a few tips to keep you making home cooked meals!

Tips
Use pre-chopped vegetables. You can either find them fresh or frozen in the grocery store.
Use pre-cooked proteins like canned beans, precooked sausages, rotisserie chicken
Electric can openers and jar openers can be so helpful.
Lightweight pots and pans with two handles will be easier to lift and manage.
Chopping aids and ergonomic knives can improve safety with cutting.
Slow cookers and Instant Pots are great options. Just throw everything into the pot and you are done!
Make several meals on your good days/times and freeze them for your bad days.
Use a one pan/baking sheet recipes. There are great cookbooks you can order that only require one pot or pan. Makes prep and clean up so much easier.
Use a rice cooker instead of making rice the old fashioned way.
Try casseroles that only require mixing ingredients and baking.
Sit while you cook to limit any balance concerns and conserve your energy.
Gather everything you need and put it in one place before starting to cook. This will help limit the amount you are moving around the kitchen when you are trying to cook.
Use cut resistant gloves to keep your hands safe.
Choose recipes that do not involve multitasking.
